Your own API key for AI
Some features, such as manufacturability assessment or searching external standards, use a large language model (LLM). For these, your company needs its own API key from an AI provider. Axion supports Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Mistral, and we can connect it to another provider on request.

Questions engineers ask us
Is Axion just another AI that models parts?
No. Modeling is one feature. The main value is connecting your data: reading live geometry and drawings, checking standards and manufacturability, estimating cost and reusing existing parts.
Which SOLIDWORKS versions are supported?
The one you use. Axion is a native add-in with its own panel and we build it for the SOLIDWORKS version running in your company.
Are there fixed packages?
For individual engineers there are the Start, Plus and Pro plans with a monthly or yearly subscription. For companies there is no locked core: at the kick-off meeting you choose what Axion should do and we build it to match. Functions can be added, changed or removed later.
Which languages does Axion speak?
Axion works in English and Czech, both in the panel and in the chat. Other languages can be added on customer request.
What does the AI cost to run?
Very little. A typical manufacturability check prompt costs less than one euro cent. With Gemini, a user working with all functions, including AI modeling and edits, typically spends around €8–16 per month. Local functions run without AI and cost nothing extra.
What do we need for the AI features?
Your company's own API key from an AI (LLM) provider. Features such as manufacturability assessment or searching external standards use it. Axion supports Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Mistral, and we can connect another provider on request. Local features, such as drawing generation or rule checks, run without AI.
Which information systems can Axion connect to?
Standard systems such as SAP or Helios, MES systems and others that provide an API. Axion reads data from them; items are created and edited only in PDM/PLM.
Does my data leave the company?
Local features run entirely in the add-in. Only chat questions go to the AI provider you choose, with just the context the question needs. A local AI model without internet access is also an option.
Can it follow our company standards and templates?
Yes. Templates, sheet formats, materials, rules and data sources for checks are set up for your company, so results match how you work.
